EPLORAQUEST MELAKA - MALACCA KITES FESTIVAL DAY 2 - 15.2.2009

The Malacca Kite Festival was held for two days from 14-15 Feb 2009. Participants then left for Pasir Gudang in Johor for the next leg

The white dome shaped structure beside the Eye of Malaysia is also a new item in the complex. At night it's like a giant dome shaped screen that features video documentaries

This is an interesting tri-kite that is not designed to fly on its own. It is a pretty challenging kite as one will have to control its flight at all times. It is very arrow dynamic and can zoom around like a jet plane and make loops



What's there to do?
1. Now that they have all left and gone, you are welcome to bring your own kite to play and practice for the next Kite Festival next year

EXPLORAQUEST MELAKA - MALACCA KITE FESTIVAL - 14.2.2009

These kite enthusiasts are a very happy lot! Once the kites are up in the air, they gather to banter and party. The "kiters" came from Malaysia, Bali, Macau, Thailand and South Korea for two days of fun in the wind of Melaka at the open land near the Eye of Malaysia. The wind was particularly strong and so was the sun. But every kiter and their kites had their sunny fun time













































There were kites of animated designs and there were also these very long trailing ones that reached out to the sky

What's there to do?
1. Wait for the next kite festival
2. Sign up as a member of the Malacca Kite Association
3. Travel to other places to "fly kites"
4. Become a kite enthusiast, design and make your own kite or buy one from Roger, the president of the Malacca Kite Association
